About Me

Lisa Richardson, M.A, Registered Psychotherapist, C.C.C

My name is Lisa Richardson and I am a Registered Psychotherapist located in Ottawa, ON Canada.

  • Why become a Psychotherapist?

Growing up, I have always been curious about what makes a person who they are. As a result, I became curious about my own upbringing and the upbringing of those around me and how these experiences shaped us into adulthood. Although our past may shape us, I wanted to better understand how we can move past and grow from these early experiences to become more authentic and fulfilled in our adult lives. I believe that as humans, we all share the need to connect and feel supported and through this job, I can offer this.

  • What is my approach to therapy?

I work from a Psychodynamic/ Attachment/ Trauma oriented approach. These approaches allow me and my clients to make sense of their current struggles from previous experiences/ relationships to build future strength and resilience. I do draw upon other approaches depending on the needs of my clients. My goal is to offer my clients a safe and comfortable space to be themselves and feel supported.
